3 Ways to Bring Some Calm Into Your Day

Life gets hectic sometimes. Between the to-do list and the impending doom of passing time, it’s easy to get stuck in your head at times.

Here are a few things that help me bring some peace and calm into my everyday life. And I hope you’ll find these tips useful as well.

Take a walk

Find a place with fresh air and an open sky. It can be a local park, or maybe just your neighborhood or even your backyard. It doesn’t matter, as long as you take 15 minutes out of your day to just walk. Don’t even listen to music. Listen to the birds, the sound of your footsteps. Try to focus on the moment. If you build daily walks outside into your routine, you will feel calmer, centered, and focused. If not, let me know. I’ll edit the article 😉

Switch out coffee for tea

This one is a controversial one, I know. But I’m telling you, coffee is great for when you’re trying to stay awake, but if you need to get rid of those jitters and wind down a bit after a long day (or even mid-day) make yourself a hot cup of delicious tea. (P.S. there’s more to the tea world than earl gray and green tea).

Practice a hobby

Find that thing you like to do and do it when life gets a little too hectic for your taste. Whether that’s reading a book, paddle-boarding, or going on a hike—anything goes. Just do it. And don’t try to find excuses why you don’t have time for it. Sometimes doing things just for yourself is what your mind and body need most.

These are just some of the things that help me feel a little more like myself on daily basis. Is there anything that you like to do to relax and unwind a bit? I’d be curious to know what it is!
